We take great pride in hosting this vibrant event that celebrates the beauty of the Alps, the richness of international culture, and the joy of coming together through music, dance, and art. Over the years, this festival has become a beloved tradition—a space where art groups from around the world gather to share their talents and build lasting friendships.
We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure this year’s festival is filled with unforgettable experiences. From stunning performances on scenic stages to opportunities to explore Lungau’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and its iconic alpine landscapes, we promise a perfect balance of creativity, adventure, and camaraderie.
Whether you’re a returning participant or a first-time guest, we can’t wait to welcome you to this magical celebration. Come join us for four incredible days of performances, excursions, and festivities that will leave you with cherished memories for a lifetime.
Program
3 October | Participants will arrive in Sankt Michael im Lungau, a picturesque village surrounded by the majestic Alps. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your accommodation and meet with group leaders to receive schedules and the Lungau Card, which grants free access to local attractions. In the evening, enjoy a warm welcome dinner featuring local specialties and spend your free time exploring the charming village or relaxing after your journey. |
4 October | The focus shifts to adventure and exploration. Start the day with breakfast, then choose from several exciting activities. You can ride the E-Choo-Choo Train or take a chairlift to Aineck Peak (2,220m) for panoramic views. For relaxation, visit the indoor swimming pool in Tamsweg or enjoy a full-day excursion to Salzburg, where you can explore iconic landmarks such as Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mozart’s Birthplace, and Mirabell Gardens. In the evening, participants return to Sankt Michael im Lungau for a festive gala dinner and the closing ceremony, featuring final performances and the distribution of diplomas and gifts. |
5 October | After breakfast, optional morning excursions include visiting Mariapfarr, known for the “Silent Night” Museum, or exploring the historic Castle Mauterndorf with its stunning views and interactive exhibits. In the afternoon, the festival’s opening ceremony will take place, showcasing performances by groups from around the world on an outdoor stage surrounded by alpine beauty. This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to share their culture and traditions. The evening concludes with a delightful dinner and free time to socialize or enjoy the serene mountain atmosphere. |
6 October | After breakfast, participants will bid farewell and begin their journey home. For those with extra time, optional excursions include visits to picturesque destinations like Hallstatt, known for its stunning lake and historic salt mines, or Murau, a charming town famous for its brewery. |
